What a world!

Amelia wakes up with the happiest smile on her face!

Busha asks “Did you have a nice dream?” Amelia shakes her head up down up down up down – yes, yes yes! “Tell me all about it,” Busha whispers as she snuggles up next to her in bed.

Amelia, with her eyes closed, remembering, begins. “There’s this beautiful, shiny golden bouncy ball, up to my waist it’s so big. I’m bouncing it in front of me – bong, bong, bong, it goes with each bounce, bounce bounce. But the gold on the outside starts cracking as I’m playing – first it’s cracking, and then a few more bounces and some gold is flaking off, and a few more bounces and gold flakes are flying everywhere, like shaking snow in a now globe. “

At first, I was a little sad because the gold was so pretty, but it was fun to watch it flying around as I was bouncing, too! When the gold is all gone, inside the ball, I see the world, from way, way, way up high, like seeing the ground below through the clouds above. I move around the ball and see the tops of huge tall buildings with ribbons of busy streets. I see winding twisty rivers cutting through green leafy forests and giant fields. And water! Such pretty blue water everywhere, everything in between the pieces of busy earth is wet sky blue.

Busha smiles, “That sounds like such a beautiful picture!” Amelia goes on, “But then, some clouds like cotton candy in the sky right under my hand start to come closer and closer together, and, Busha there was the most beautiful face in those clouds just under my hand. I was hearing in my head, ‘I love you, Amelia, I so love you!’ over and over. It was like I was hugging the whole world, and it was hugging me back!”

Busha sighs, “What a sweet dream!”

“Busha, if I hug the world in my heart, do you think it will hug me back, like in my dream?” Amelia asks.

“Why not try it, and see?” suggested Busha.

Amelia closes her eyes for a long time. Busha sees the smile on Amelia’s face become bigger, and warmer, and happier, and a little tear of joy slips down Busha’s cheek. ‘What a world,’ dances across her mind.
